Designing for SEO
Let’s not beat around the bush; web design and SEO have not exactly seen eye-to-eye over the decades. As creative UI designers, we always want to experiment with the nicest looking layouts, the fanciest transitions, quirky overlays and the latest technology. It’s in our nature. It’s also what we believe will make a brand really stand out.
But sadly many of these awesome design features can create challenges for SEO – and what good are those awesome transitions if no-one is transitioning? No good, that’s what.
Fortunately, amazing user experience and SEO have found themselves to be both a bit more middle wing these days which means less compromising. Modern (and white hat) SEO is much more about creating amazing user experiences than it is keywords. Keywords still matter don’t get us wrong. But what’s also important is a website which is mobile-friendly, fast, relevant, engaging and super simple to use. Bring back the fancy transitions!
We make sure we consider SEO when we design and build our websites. We combine the fancy stuff with the sensible stuff to create something truly awesome and discoverable.
